Leading sock manufacturer, FALKE Textiles, has pledged their support for the Ride the Rhino 2012 and will be giving each of the expected 400 participants a funky pair of arm warmers in an effort to further raise awareness for this very worthy cause.
The Ride the Rhino is a 3 day stage event (± 250km) starts on Friday, 5 October 2012 in Langebaan, and ends Sunday, 7 October at Nitida Wine Estate with the Season of Sauvignon Blanc Festival in Durbanville.
FALKE group manufacturing executive, Anton Lotz and operations manager, Dietmar Walser will be doing their bit for conservation when they tackle the 150km White Rhino route, joining them to represent FALKE this year is husband-and-wife team Thorkild and Michelle Nielsen.
The Rhino Ride is the first stage race that allowed scholars to partake. The MTB Clubs at Boys High, Paarl Gymnasium, Strand High and Grey are huge and they already indicated that they will be entering.
This year the race has a Black Rhino (250km) and a White Rhino / Junior Rhino route (+/- 150km), which accommodates both serious and social rider. The race is tough and will always be with protecting the Renosterveld in mind.
Water and Spectator Points along the way like !KwaTtu San Park, Buffelsfontein Game Reserve, Groote Post, Cloof and Nassau Wine Estates offer the family the opportunity to see parents passing by, as well as accommodation, food and entertainment for all.
