(Centurion) – Residents who are home for the holidays can look forward to three days of boredom-busting entertainment at Forest Hill City this weekend – where they can skate, bowl or surf for just a rand a day.
The shopping centre has launched its Ke Dezemba campaign, which will allow residents to experience various elements of its entertainment offering throughout the weekend, at a cost of R1 per activity – accompanied by a till slip as proof of purchase of any rand value item from the mall, required upon entry.
The cut-price, all-day entertainment kicks off on Friday (December 15) at the Forest Hill City ice rink. On Saturday (December 16), residents can beat the heat at the Wave Pool, and then wrap up their weekend with tenpin bowling at the Super Games Arcade on Sunday (December 17).
The mall’s acting marketing manager Estee Roos said the idea behind the campaign was to bring the fun to residents who had not joined the annual migration to the coast in search of sun, sea and sand.
“We want to introduce an element of fun to the holidays, offering a wide range of affordable entertainment options to families not going away for Christmas,” said Roos. “At this time of year people are caught up in the mad rush of gift and food shopping. We want them to take time out for a bit of relaxation and quality time together.”
She said the summer holidays presented the perfect opportunity for residents to explore their own city’s tourism offering.
“We may be landlocked here in Pretoria, but there are ways to beat the heat and have fun. We just made it much more affordable.”
