Ridgeback Wines are surrounded by the rugged magnificence of the Paarl mountains and pay homage to the Rhodesian Ridgeback, which is believed to have evolved from the hunting dogs of the indigenous nomadic tribes. Boasting some of the most impressive vistas in the region, Pearl Mountain Wines welcome visitors with hand-crafted boutique wines and the chance to dine in a renovated blacksmith’s cottage dating back to 1747. The farm has been in Retief family for five generations and the cosy Blacksmith’s restaurant serves a Mediterranean-inspired menu as well as delicious pizzas from their wood-fired pizza oven.
