For the month of July, Park Boulevard Centre is appealing to the public to donate sports equipment as part of their Sports Kit Drive.
Now is the time to dig into your garages, spare rooms and sheds and gather any unwanted sports equipment in good condition, which you no longer need.
Many schools in KZN do not have the means to host basic extra mural sports such as cricket, rugby, tennis, hockey and soccer amongst others, and your donation could help to bring learners together to participate in sports where they are able to gain valuable skills such as teamwork, sportsmanship, self-confidence, time management, critical thinking as well as building fitness and good heart health.
Do your part, pay it forward and you could be contributing to the lives of underprivileged children who would otherwise not have the opportunity; so donate your new or used sports equipment to those in need and make it a Mandela Month to remember!
Drop off your second hand or new sports equipment at the collection boxes in Park Boulevard Centre Spar and Spar Pharmacy. In addition, if you do not have equipment, but have valuable coaching skills that you are able to volunteer, then contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
Through this campaign and past campaigns, Park Boulevard Centre is striving to create a holistic approach to education, which not only includes academic learning through reading, but similarly physical activity and the development of healthy competition.
Throughout the month, the Centre management staff will also be searching for schools that are in desperate need of sporting equipment. If you know of a school in need or for more information, contact Goldfish Communications.
