Employers please stop and consider the real reasons why your employees came to work today after heavy rains and predictions of more accompanied by high winds. This morning in Nelson Mandela Bay roads were closed due to flooding, substations were tripping like junkies in a cocaine mine and people were mopping out their homes.
And yet, employees still reported for work.
There are a number of reasons why they did so and we, as employers. all hope that it is because we have provided our employees with enough guideance, care and a decent living wage to enable them to escape most of the ravages of last night coupled with a real love for their work.
On the other side of the coin maybe today is the day to have a real heart to heart with employees and find out the real reason why they reported for work..
