{"id":4687,"date":"2026-01-14T15:18:00","date_gmt":"2026-01-14T13:18:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mypr.co.za\/?p=175344"},"modified":"2026-01-14T15:18:00","modified_gmt":"2026-01-14T13:18:00","slug":"young-conservationists-take-the-lead-at-crocworlds-wilded-holiday-camp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mypr.co.za\/mail\/young-conservationists-take-the-lead-at-crocworlds-wilded-holiday-camp\/","title":{"rendered":"Young Conservationists Take the Lead at Crocworld\u2019s WildEd Holiday Camp"},"content":{"rendered":"<div><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mypr.co.za\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Entertainment_FQI-scaled.jpg\" class=\"ff-og-image-inserted\"><\/div>\n<p>The WildED Holiday Camp concluded a successful week at Crocworld Conservation Centre over the school holidays, giving young adventurers a hands-on introduction to conservation, outdoor skills, and teamwork.<\/p>\n<p>Hosted at the WildED Learning Hub by experienced camp leaders, the programme saw youngsters participate in orienteering challenges, a hike to Green Point Lighthouse, and real-world conservation work at Crocworld Conservation Centre in Scottburgh. This included supervised animal interactions, birding, team building exercises, survival skills, shelter building \u2013 plus a visit to Jikileza Outdoor Adventures, the only aerial adventure zipline in the region.<\/p>\n<p>The week ended with an Adventure Race that brought together the skills and confidence built throughout the programme.<\/p>\n<p>Matt Machell-Cox, co-owner of WildED Africa and programme director, commented: \u201cIt was great to welcome new and returning youngsters to our holiday adventure. These hands-on experiences play a vital role in connecting young people with nature while encouraging environmental awareness through real-world experiences. We\u2019re looking forward to introducing more kids to the natural world through our upcoming camps and events!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Crocworld and WildED Africa will host more youth-focused camps and conservation activities in the coming year.
