4 Paws and a Tale Rescue is appealing to animal lovers across the KZN South Coast to help keep its doors open to animals in need. The organisation says it urgently needs funding for food, medical care, sterilisation, and day-to-day running costs.<\/p>\n
The Scottburgh-based animal rescue works on the frontline of animal welfare, rescuing and rehoming abandoned, abused and neglected animals. The team also assists stray animals and pets belonging to families in local townships and underprivileged communities \u2013 all on a volunteer basis with no government funding.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe help where we can, but at the moment we really need the community to stand behind us,\u201d says founder Nicky Koekemoer. \u201cThere are always animals in desperate need, and the costs add up very quickly. Our charity shop simply isn\u2019t covering the mounting costs, and we don\u2019t want to turn any animal away because we simply don\u2019t have the funds to help it.\u201d<\/p>\n
The organisation is appealing for financial donations of any size to help cover its ongoing costs. The rescue also welcomes support through its charity shop, Tale End in Thira Village, which accepts quality second-hand goods for resale. Income generated through the shop helps fund the rescue\u2019s ongoing work.<\/p>\n
