A practical 12-week business coaching programme helped five emerging fashion businesses strengthen their strategy, branding, digital presence and foundations for sustainable growth.<\/strong><\/p>\n

My SME supported five emerging fashion businesses through an Enterprise and Supplier Development programme designed to provide practical business knowledge, development support and a stronger foundation for long-term growth. Delivered through a 12-week business coaching programme, the initiative combined business strategy, branding, marketing support and practical business development to help entrepreneurs move from having a business idea towards building more structured businesses.<\/p>\n

The programme began with practical business coaching and strategy, helping entrepreneurs develop a clearer understanding of their businesses, their offerings and the foundations required to operate sustainably. Participants received guidance in areas including business planning, pricing, sales strategy, business systems and day-to-day management, while also receiving support to strengthen their professional business presence.<\/p>\n

A key part of the programme was helping the businesses establish stronger and more professional identities. My SME supported participants with branding and logo development, one-page website development, online presence, WhatsApp marketing materials, promotional flyers and shop signage. Google Business Profile and Maps setup, Facebook page development and social media profile optimisation also helped businesses establish a more accessible presence for potential customers.<\/p>\n

The programme was supported by Siyabonga Africa through its Siyakhula Enterprise Development Initiative, an enterprise-development platform focused on supporting township entrepreneurs and informal traders. By combining structured coaching with practical implementation, the programme addressed some of the challenges faced by emerging businesses, including limited access to business training, professional branding, digital resources and ongoing mentorship.<\/p>\n

\u201cBuilding a sustainable business requires more than having a good product. Entrepreneurs need the strategy, systems, branding and practical knowledge to turn their ideas into businesses that can operate and grow. Our focus was to give these emerging fashion businesses practical tools they could continue using beyond the programme.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n
