On Wednesday 19 November 2025 at 09:00, the Standing Committee on Mobility will be briefed by the Western Cape Minister and Department of Mobility on the current state of vehicle operating licences and the extent of illegal mobility-related operations across the Western Cape. The committee will also be briefed by the Western Cape E-hailing Association and e-Cabs on the readiness of the e-hailing and metered taxi industry to implement the new laws under the National Land Transport Amendment Act, the safety of commuters using e-hailing and metered taxis and the support received from the Western Cape Government.
