The Cape Jewish Chronicle is a publication that focuses on the Cape Town Jewish Community. It comprises a monthly digital copy available for download on our website, as well as three print editions per year, coinciding with major Jewish holidays. The print issues are posted to most Jewish households in the city, as well as some nationally and internationally. A voluntary subscription of R350 per year is requested to help cover costs. We also offer a digital subscription free of charge and have a website where you can download the Chronicle as a PDF, or read articles and share them online. The Chronicle includes local organisational and social news (including family announcements and photographs of simchas), editorial material, commentary on local and international issues and columns of a lighter nature. Advertising includes both commercial and classifieds. The Cape Jewish Chronicle was established in November 1984, with Irma Chait holding the position of editor for 26 years. Irma retired at the end of 2010 and was succeeded by Tali Feinberg (2011-2014), Lindy Diamond (2015- April 2021) and Desrae Saacks (May 2021-April 2023).
