The package combines Bundox Explorer Camp in the Olifants West Nature Reserve with Amava River Lodge in the Olifants View Nature Reserve, within Balule.
Explorer Camp provides the familiar rhythm of guided game drives and time in a private reserve environment.
Amava River Lodge introduces another dimension, with its Olifants River setting allowing the property and surrounding landscape to become a larger part of the journey.
The river itself plays an important role.
Breakfast near the Olifants gives travellers an opportunity to stop and spend time in the landscape during the safari morning, while the boat cruise provides a different form of wildlife viewing.
Hippos, crocodiles, birdlife and other wildlife remain part of the experience, but the perspective and pace differ from tracking wildlife by vehicle.
Game drives remain central, complemented by river experiences, wellness touches and time to unwind at Amava River Lodge on the Olifants River.
Why the Approach Matters for South African Tourism
The concept is particularly relevant in a destination such as Greater Kruger, where safari often forms one part of a much wider South African journey.
Travellers may arrive from Johannesburg and continue to Cape Town, the Panorama Route or the Winelands. Others may be combining several safari destinations within the same holiday.
