Leading the green revolution in gardening and landscaping, EGO Power will be launching its completely energy-efficient product range to the South African market at this year’s Decorex Cape Town, taking place at the Cape Town International Convention Centre from 27 April to 1 May. The Garden of the Future, brought to you be EGO Power, is an innovative feature that forms part of this year’s extensive #rhythmoflife programme running at Decorex Cape Town, sponsored by Plascon.
“The world is changing, fast. Our whole society is moving away from fossil fuels and adopting cleaner, greener energy. It’s why we believe it’s time for a new, smarter way to power through gardening and landscaping tasks,” explained Jarryd McDonald, CMO of Smith Power Equipment, distributors of EGO in South Africa. “Decorex Cape Town is the perfect platform to engage with people in residential and commercial markets directly which is why we’ve decided to launch the impressive new EGO Power range at the exhibition. It is a completely new brand that we believe will revolutionise the garden and landscaping market.”
For the past decade, EGO Power has been researching, developing and perfecting their industry POWER+ machinery which uses ground-breaking technology in its design and function. This incredible range of cordless outdoor power equipment will be on display at the Garden of the Future, with experts available to explain how they exhibit the power and performance of petrol-run technology without any of the noise, fuss and fumes.
Visitors can expect to see demonstrations of EGO Power’s range of self-powered mowers, push mowers, handheld blowers, string trimmers, chainsaws, hedge trimmers and many other landscape-enhancing equipment, all powered using cutting-edge green technology. The arc lithium designed battery delivers a new level of performance, offering dependable power and the fastest possible re-charge.
“All the EGO Power products are comfortable to use, with impressive run times and fast recharge, giving the consumer the ultimate in convenience,” explained Jarryd McDonald. “There are no trips to the petrol station for fuel and no need to store highly flammable liquids. There is also no concern about noise issues associated with many petrol-fuelled products. Each item has been carefully designed and engineered by this global organisation which is renowned for delivering professional quality. Ego Power has essentially changed the nature of lawn and garden equipment forever.”
Sian Cullingworth, Portfolio Director: Design, Lifestyle and Retail Exhibitions, said EGO Power’s green technology perfectly complemented the Decorex ethos of sustainability. “Decorex is committed to environmentally-sustainable practices and we are promoting these through innovative products and services that will showcase prominently at this year’s exhibition. Visitors to the Garden of the Future feature will find ground-breaking landscaping technology that is easy to use and beneficial for the both the consumer and environment.”
Cullingworth said that, in addition to clean technology, there was a strong emphasis on water-saving products and services at this year’s Decorex Cape Town in an effort to assist residents to reduce water use during the current water crisis.
“We’re looking to encourage a more sustainable way of living, not just at Decorex Cape Town, but across our exhibitions,” she continued. “While the drought being experienced in the Western Cape is prompting a more water-conscious way of life, this is something that needs to be adopted nationally as water resources become scarcer. We hope that features such as Garden of the Future will show Decorex-goers exactly how easy it is to adapt to a more sustainable way of living as well as the many associated benefits that come from this.”
