(MyPR.co.za) December 10, 2018 By //  by Alan Straton Filed Under: Entertainment Edit This Article

Crocworld Conservation Centre in Scottburgh promises non-stop holiday fun this festive season with fascinating daily snake demonstrations, crocodile feeding and talks, forest walks, vulture feeding and talks every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday and Henry the iconic Nile crocodile’s 118th birthday party. Crocworld Conservation Centre’s daily holiday programme will run between the 13th of December 2017 and 8th of January 2018.

“We are expecting thousands of visitors to flock to Crocworld Conservation Centre once again this festive season. Crocworld’s impressive variety of birds, reptiles, breath-taking sea views, expansive indigenous gardens, jungle gyms and animal farm, make it the ultimate day out for holidaymakers of all ages to enjoy,” commented Crocworld Conservation Centre’s Manager, Martin Rodrigues.

In addition to the usual crocodile feedings at 11h00 and 15h00 every day, there will also be a daily forest walk at midday and as a special holiday treat, vulture feedings on Mondays, Wednesdays, Friday and Sunday at 14h00. The kilometre-long scenic forest walk is a must-do for all nature and bird enthusiasts.

The programme will include a daily snake demonstration at 10h15 where visitors will learn valuable snake safety tips and interesting facts from some of the Centre’s snake experts.

Everyone is invited to join the bumper 118th birthday celebrations on December 16 at 11h00, for Crocworld’s oldest resident, Henry the Nile crocodile. Henry is the oldest known Nile Crocodile in captivity, weighing in at 500kgs and 5-metre’s in length. Henry arrived at Crocworld in 1985 as an adult, with records that stated he was 85-years old. He lives in his enclosure with six females, and has fathered over 10 000 offspring in the last 32 years. There will be a special birthday feeding and talk, as well as cake for guests, while stock lasts.

Crocworld Conservation Centre’s gift shop offers an opportunity to do some Christmas shopping, boasting a vast array of African-inspired clothing and curios, as well as toys, jewellery, books and ornaments.

Crocworld Conservation Centre will be open throughout the festive season from 8am- 5pm, with the sole exception of Christmas Day itself. For more information about Crocworld Conservation Centre, visit www.crocworld.co.za, @CrocworldCC on Twitter, or Crocworld Conservation Centre on Facebook.
