For a wildly exciting evening of fang-tastic fun, Crocworld Conservation Centre has organised the ultimate Halloween celebration which will be spooking park visitors on Saturday, 27 October from 4pm until late.

“We want to offer a truly unique Halloween experience so – for only the third time in the park’s history – we will be opening our doors after dark,” said Martin Rodrigues, Crocworld Conservation Centre manager. “There are a number of exciting adventures in store, hair-raising experiences and live entertainment, with the added bonus of getting to witness our spellbinding nocturnal species in action. It’s going to be an extreme Halloween celebration with something for every witch, wizard, ghost and mummy out there.”

Visitors will be invited to step into an enchanted world as they take a journey through the eerie scare zone – The Lost Maze – this year’s Halloween programme highlight. Every fog-coated turn in the recreated Crocworld Resources Centre has a chilling new surprise that will leave even the most daring thrill-seekers scrambling for the exit!

Once out of The Lost Maze, you will find magical live entertainment and a wide variety of delectable food options provided by food trucks. Pizza, pulled pork burgers, gourmet hotdogs, boerewors rolls, nachos and refreshing potions are all on the menu.

There is also a chance to get up close to Crocworld’s exciting nocturnal animals as the park’s ghoulish guides take visitors on a night tour of the park – one at 7pm and another at 8.30pm. These creatures of the night will add a uniquely South African flavour to this Halloween spectacular, with crocodile feedings on both tours completing this night-time haunt. There will be on-site security and staff assistance throughout the event, and brave-hearted visitors are welcome to walk around inside the park outside of the guided tours – just remember to bring a torch!

And no Halloween celebration is complete without trick or treat. Bring your bags and seek your treats at the various candy stations dotted around the park! Visitors who dress in their Halloween scariest could also be rewarded with some fantastic prizes through the Crocworld Facebook photo competition, including free annual passes to the park. Just take a scary selfie – at the designated photo booth or any spooky spot within the park – and upload to the Crocworld Conservation Centre Facebook page.

Rodrigues extended his thanks to all the sponsors who are making this enticingly beastly event possible. These include Crystal Divers, Electri Shan, Food Lovers Market, Coastal Happenings, Carla Comms 2 Way Radios, The Halloween Store, Scallywags Costume Hire, Jump4Joy, Umdoni Private Ambulance Services, GIS Risk Solutions, South Coast Signs and Interiors, Armor of God Tattoo Studio and many more.

Tickets for the Crocworld Conservation Centre Halloween night are available at the door at a cost of R65 for adults and R45 for children under 12. All children under the age of 13 must be accompanied by an adult when entering The Lost Maze.

For more information about the Halloween event, contact Martin Rodrigues on mrodrigues@cbl.co.za or call 039 976 1103.
