The Germiston supplier sells mesh by count, pre-stretched frames from 34 cm to 120 cm, and offers re-stretching, tension checks and batch screen prep.
GERMISTON, South Africa – Ask a screen printer why a print bled at the edges or came out patchy on a long run, and the answer often comes back to the screen rather than the ink. MeshMaster, a Germiston supplier of screen-printing mesh and pre-stretched aluminium frames, has put its mesh and frame range online for print shops across South Africa.
Mesh by count
The mesh comes in ten counts: 43T, 54T, 61T, 77T, 90T, 100T, 120T, 140T, 165T and 180T. The low counts lay down heavier ink for bold coverage, special effects and garment work. The fine end is for halftones, crisp edges and thinner, controlled deposits on paper and signage, with the middle counts carrying everyday jobs. Shops that want to compare before they standardise can order a mesh sample pack.
Frames ready for the press
Pre-stretched aluminium frames come in 34 cm, 45 cm, 55 cm, 64 cm, 77 cm, 90 cm, 100 cm and 120 cm formats, alongside square, narrow and wide screens. Deep-profile frames add rigidity, while lighter profiles suit shops that change screens all day. Ready screens are set up for textile, paper, signage, fine-detail and bold-coverage work, and new shops can start with a starter frame kit.
“A frame that has lost tension will still print, it just won’t print the same way twice,” said MeshMaster’s head of frame stretching. “We’d rather check the tension on a tired screen and tell a customer it is still good than re-mesh something that didn’t need it. When it does need it, the old adhesive comes off properly before the new mesh goes on.”
Stretching and re-stretching
The Germiston bench handles new frame stretching and re-stretching of reusable frames, frame clean prep, mesh bonding, tension checking, custom frame sizing and screen inspection before dispatch. Batch screen prep and a repeat order service keep matching sets consistent for shops that print the same jobs month after month, and stretched screens are packed for the trip to customers around the country.
MeshMaster supplies print shops in Johannesburg, Pretoria, the East Rand, Midrand, Durban, Cape Town and Gqeberha. Shops can send a mesh and frame list, or a description of the print job if they are unsure of the count, through the MeshMaster website.
