The Paarden Eiland supplier offers recycled plastic deck boards, park and school benches, plus site measures, installation and refurbishment.
CAPE TOWN, South Africa – Timber benches along a school walkway or around a complex pool tend to go the same way in the Cape: a few seasons of sun and salt air, then splinters, sanding and paint, and finally replacement. Plastimber, based in Paarden Eiland, Cape Town, has listed its range of recycled plastic decking and benches as a lower-upkeep alternative for homes, estates, schools and commercial spaces.
Boards for every edge of the deck
The decking range includes standard, grooved, smooth and textured deck boards, starter boards for a tidy opening row, edge and fascia boards to finish exposed sides, and deck steps for level changes. Boards are offered for pool surrounds, patios and braai areas, balconies, rooftops, boardwalks and jetties, with solid profiles and square posts for framing details.
The material does not rot or split the way some timber does, needs no routine sealing or painting, and is cleaned with ordinary washing. That makes it a practical choice for wet, humid and sun-exposed spots where wooden decking wears out quickly.
Benches built for public use
Seating covers park, garden, picnic, backless, school, memorial, corner, straight and modular benches. For repairs, Plastimber sells bench slats, backrest slats, bench planks and seat frames, and bench kits group slats with matching structural components for simpler ordering.
“A lot of our bench calls start with a broken slat on an old wooden bench,” said Plastimber’s installation lead. “Often the frame is still sound, so we swap the slats and the seat is back in use. When the whole thing has gone, we measure the spot and plan the new layout around how people actually walk past it.”
From site measures to the last board
Plastimber offers site measures, layout planning, material quoting and delivery timed to site readiness, followed by deck and bench installation and edge finishing. Refurbishment of existing decks and benches, component replacement and care advice are available too, and trade customers can order single units or bulk quantities.
In the Western Cape the company works across Cape Town, Bellville, Paarl, Stellenbosch and Somerset West, and it also supplies projects in George, Johannesburg and Durban. Board lengths, quantities and the delivery site can be sent through the Plastimber website for a quote within a working day.
