This Heritage Month, Centurion Lifestyle Centre is inviting the community to put ubuntu into action and support local children. From 25 August to 30 September 2025, shoppers are encouraged to donate essentials to help turn little needs into big smiles and a brighter future.
Ubuntu reminds us that we belong to one another. Every contribution—big or small—brings hope, restores dignity, and shows our children that their community cares.
Donations from this drive will support Dove’s Nest – Place of Safety, a Centurion-based home for abandoned and abused children. A registered NPO, Dove’s Nest provides a stable, loving environment to children in crisis and will be celebrating its 20th birthday next year. The centre is led by house mother and owner, Isilde Felix, whose hands-on care ensures each child receives the individual attention, love, and support they deserve.
How to Donate
- When: 25 August – 30 September 2025
- What: Preloved or new clothing, toys, books, non-perishable foods, cleaning and hygiene items
- Who: Boys and girls aged newborn to 17 years
- Where: Donation trolleys at Pick n Pay Hypermarket inside Centurion Lifestyle Centre
But that’s not all—this year we’re making giving back even more meaningful with a Heritage Month competition on our Facebook page! While you’re donating, you can also take part in a fun, family-friendly activity that celebrates the voices of our children—the very heart of our heritage.
Parents and legal guardians are invited to share their children’s answers (ages 2–17) to one of these questions on our Facebook competition post:
- “What does it mean to live the upside?”
- “Why do we celebrate Heritage Day?”
- “Why do you think grown-ups say children are our heritage?”
Post your child’s answer in the comments—or upload a short video (max 45 sec) of them answering one or more of the questions—for a chance to win!
- Prize 1: Family of four (2 adults + 2 kids aged 0–12) – 2 nights in a Family Room at Blue Marlin All-Inclusive Seascape by Dream Resorts, valued at R12,000.
- Prize 2: Romantic midweek getaway for 2 adults – 2 nights in a Superior Room, valued at R10,000.
Competition runs from 1 – 30 September 2025. Winners are randomly selected by an independent auditor. Only parents/legal guardians (18+, Gauteng residents) may enter.
By rallying shoppers, tenants, and families, Centurion Lifestyle Centre is turning kindness into action and joy into heritage. Donate, participate, and celebrate—together we can Make Happiness Our Heritage.
