(MyPR.co.za) June 9, 2025 By //  by Jacky Filed Under: Sports Edit This Article

The Absa RUN YOUR CITY SERIES, in proud partnership with Gautrain, the official Transport Partner, is excited to launch a special “Absa RUN YOUR CITY Heritage Double Entry fast-tracked by Gautrain” for two of the series’ iconic events: the Absa RUN YOUR CITY TSHWANE 10K on Sunday, 24 August 2025, and the Absa RUN YOUR CITY JOBURG 10K on Wednesday, 24 September 2025.

An innovative initiative made possible through valuable partner relationships, the Absa RUN YOUR CITY SERIES Heritage Double Entry fast-tracked by Gautrain offers the perfect opportunity for runners to experience the energy, diversity, and excitement of two world-class 10km road races.

“By entering both the Tshwane and Joburg events, participants get to celebrate South Africa’s rich heritage in two iconic cities, just weeks apart,” says Michael Meyer, Managing Director of Stillwater Sports and Series Founder. “While both events deliver the same high-quality experience the series is known for, each race offers its own unique atmosphere, character, and route – making every step memorable in its own way.”

“Runners will enjoy a premium experience at both the Absa RUN YOUR CITY TSHWANE 10K and the Absa RUN YOUR CITY JOBURG 10K at a discounted entry fee,” continues Meyer. “Each entrant will receive an impressive goodie bag that includes an event performance t-shirt, a pair of Versus Socks, a peak cap and drawstring bag compliments of Absa, an exclusive Absa RUN YOUR CITY Heritage performance t-shirt, Gautrain arm warmers, fast-tracked registration at both race pack collections, and complimentary Gautrain transportation on race day for both events – to name just a few highlights.

As the official transport partner of the Absa RUN YOUR CITY SERIES, Gautrain’s innovative public transport system offers entrants a reliable, efficient, and safe mode of travel. This partnership is yet another way the series continues to elevate the runner experience. We look forward to welcoming thousands of participants to the Absa RUN YOUR CITY SERIES in Tshwane and Joburg – ready to #RunYourCity in style.”

“We are excited to introduce the Absa RUN YOUR CITY Heritage Double Entry fast-tracked by Gautrain,” says Tshepo Kgobe, Chief Executive Officer of the Gautrain Management Agency. “This exclusive offer is our way of encouraging participation in both the Tshwane and Joburg events, while making travel between the cities more accessible and convenient. As the proud official Transport Partner of the Series once again, we are pleased to support runners with seamless travel to both races via the Gautrain. Johannesburg-based participants can head to Pretoria for the 24 August race, while those in Pretoria can easily travel to Johannesburg for the 24 September event. The Gautrain remains committed to connecting people and cities – safely, reliably, and on time.”
