e² Young Engineers Centurion launches new learning centre for 2018

Extramural educational weekly sessions to make children excited and interested in STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics)

4 December 2017 – CENTURION, SOUTH AFRICA – e² Young Engineers, a company that provides a simple learning solution for complex educational subjects in Science, Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering and Mathematics, is excited to announce the opening of a new learning centre.

Opening in Doringkloof Mall in Centurion (Pretoria), the learning centre is aimed at children ages 4 – 14.

Neuroscientists studies shows that our minds absorb new information through sensory integration. Feelings and sensations are critical in our thinking patterns and feelings draw our attention and give meaning to our memories which are based on pleasant or unpleasant experiences. Complex thinking processes are encouraged by challenges and discouraged by negative emotions, such as fear and pressure. e² Young Engineers’ approach provides a fun and interactive learning experience, installing positive memories and ensuring a positive connection is made with learning.

In addition to educational benefits the e² Young Engineers programmes also contribute to Early Childhood Development.

Big Builders: Children aged 4 – 6 years
Programme Summary: Provide a hands-on educational experience – discovering basic engineering solutions. The course exposes children to engineering terminology, as well as terms taken from the animal kingdom, science and their current world.
• Curriculum Price: R4 500.00 per year

Bricks Challenge: Children aged 7 to 8 years
Programme Summary: Impart theoretical and applied knowledge in the fields of Science, Technology, Mechanical Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
• Curriculum Price: R5 000.00 per year

Galileo Technic: Children aged 9 to 10 years OR graduates from Bricks Challenge.
Programme Summary: Students explore machines from a professional engineering perspective, focusing on identifying solutions and promoting teamwork to build complex mechanisms.
• Curriculum Price: R5 300.00 per year

Robo Bricks: children aged 11 to 12 years OR graduates from Galileo Technic
Programme Summary: The course objective is to introduce the students to theoretical and practical aspects of the fields of Technology, Software Engineering, Mathematics and Entrepreneurship
• Curriculum Price: R5 500.00

Robotics and Software Engineering: Children aged 13 to 14 years OR graduates from Robo Bricks
Programme Summary: Extensive team work and cooperation to reflect the complex engineering challenge that exist in the industry. The programme aligns with the university engineering curriculum to prepare them for the industrial world.
• Curriculum Price: R5 800.00 per year

e² Young Engineers provide an engaging, hands-on learning platform. Each session starts with a theory lesson, focusing on a specific principle or concept, followed by a practical building phase where the children build a specific model using K’nex® or Lego® blocks, which practically illustrates the theory and demonstrates the scientific principles in a fun and accessible fashion; combining experiments that form scientific intuition with stories that capture the imagination.
