Iziko Museums closed on 15 December

In honour of the memory and legacy of former President Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela (1918 – 2013), Iziko Museums of South Africa will close the following museums on Sunday, 15 December 2013:

• South African Museum (including the Planetarium)

• South African National Gallery

• Michaelis Collection at the Old Town House

• Koopmans de-Wet House

• Rust en Vreugd

• Groot Constantia

• Slave Lodge

• Bo-Kaap Museum

• Bertram House

• Maritime Centre

• William Fehr Collection at the Castle of Good Hope

Our Council and staff join the people of South Africa and world in sending our condolences and words of comfort to the family and friends of Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela.

Our museums will be open and *free (excluding the Castle and Planetarium) on Reconciliation Day, 16 December 2013.
