If old-school is what floats your boat, Soul Sisters 2025 is where you want to moor your soul-filled boat. These delightful and respectful women will unite on stage for a single night, delivering the best classic, timeless music Cape Town anticipates.

On Saturday, 27 September 205, at Grand West Casino and Entertainment World, new and long-time fans will experience the Soul Sisters concert, featuring diva Robin S and Judy Boucher and a stunning line-up of the Cape stars.

Also on the bill are Karin KorjIe, Claire Phillips, Jamali, Vicky Sampson, Andrea Fortuin, Calretheia, Ramaine Barreiro Lloyd and   Leonee Leroux, all backed by the amazing Dillon Roman and his seven-piece band.

Robin S and Judy Boucher  will be performing all the hits fans have come to know and love.

The back stories

Judy Boucher (born in St. Vincent in the Caribbean) is a reggae and R&B singer.

Her first solo song “Dreaming of a Little Island” was a hit in the reggae charts in 1985, and she is best known for her international hit single “Can’t Be with You Tonight”, which reached No. 2 on the UK Singles Chart in April 1987.

After being in her brother’s band Judy Jack and the Beanstalk, she later became a solo artist. Her music career took a giant step circa 1970.

In 1985, Felix Da Silva, a local songwriter, wanted a singer to cover his songs and Boucher was able to record several of them, including “Dreaming of a Little Island”, which enjoyed the No. 1 slot in the reggae charts and was subsequently used as the Jamaica Tourist Board’s theme tune.

An album was released, entitled Can’t Be with You Tonight which would change the “ordinary country girl” into an international entertainer by the end of 1987.

The title track was released as a single and became a worldwide hit in 1987, also peaking at No. 2 in the UK.

Lizzie Webb, TV’s exercise queen at the time, heard the song while driving home and decided to use it as her exercise tune. The UK public began enquiring about it. Boucher’s producer released it to satisfy the demand which gave Boucher her first national entry into the charts. The song hit No. 1 during mid-week, but then remained at No. 2 for four weeks in the UK and was also a hit in the Netherlands, Ireland, Switzerland, France, Greece, Spain and the Philippines.

Her follow-up single, “You Caught My Eye” gave Boucher another national hit, peaking at No. 18 in the UK.[1] She did a tour of the Middle East, including Dubai and Abu Dhabi of the UAE.

In 1988–89, Boucher decided to take a break, returning in late 1989 with a change of record company and producer.

She holds the record for being the first female from the Caribbean to have the longest stay in the national charts with fourteen weeks in 1987

In recognition of her achievements, Boucher was invited by the government of St. Vincent as their special guest of honour and remains an ambassador for her country

Robin Stone (born April 27, 1962) is an American singer and songwriter who succeeded in the 1990s with house music singles. She has had three Number One singles on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart.

She released the original version of the single “Show Me Love” in 1990. The track, produced by Fred McFarlane, went on to enjoy success. In 1993, the track was remixed by the Swedish DJ and producer Stonebridge and re-released under the artist name Robin S. with Big Beat Records in 1993. This release climbed the charts the same year, as did her first album,  Show Me Love.

The remixed version of “Show Me Love” peaked at No. 1 on the Hot Dance Music/Club Play, No. 1 on the Hot Dance Singles Sales, No. 7 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles and Tracks and No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100. It also peaked at No. 4 on the Rhythmic Top 40 chart.

The success earned her a spot on the 1994 American Music Awards as a performer.

The follow-up singles, “Luv 4 Luv” and “What I Do Best”, saw similar success.

As of 2004, the album Show Me Love had sold 303,000 copies in the US.

After taking time off to work on her songwriting, Robin began working with producers Eric ‘E-Smoove’ Miller and Todd Terry on her second album.

Released in 1997 on Atlantic Records, From Now On reflected broader interests for Robin S, encompassing Gospel and R&B ballads and Hi-NRG dance-floor material.

The album’s first single, “It Must Be Love”, became a hit, spending two weeks at Number One on the Hot Dance Club Play chart. It was also a moderate crossover hit on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, peaking at No. 35, and a pop hit, peaking at No. 91 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The follow-up single “Midnight” reached Number One on the Hot Dance Club Play and got better success on the Billboard Top 100, peaking at Number 35. Robin S. She performed the hit on The Ricki Lake Show during the week, the single hit Top 10 on the US dance charts. Robin also appeared on the RuPaul show to promote From Now On; the album sold an estimated 100,000 copies in the US by the end of its chart run.

In 1996 Robin did a song, “Givin’ You All That I Got”, played in the movie Space Jam and featured on the soundtrack.

In 2016, Robin S. collaborated with DJ Escape on the track “Shout It Loud”, which went to Number One on the US dance chart.

Booking is open at Ticketmaster from R250.00
