SA’s First Property Development Franchise Growing Fast

Affordable Living Solutions Africa is SA’s first property development franchise and is making waves in the property development arena.

Founder, Hans van Breugel, is a Dutch engineer and green hydrogen expert who decided to tackle SA’s housing crisis with a collective approach. After less than two years, ALSA has 12 franchisees across South Africa, all of whom are currently engaged in the development phase of the ALSA blueprint.

ALSA developments are aimed explicitly at the GAP market, and all franchisees utilize the same architectural designs and bespoke development toolkit to create at least 200 apartments each per year. The blueprint features solar panels, heat pumps, and batteries, aiming to integrate renewable energy into the everyday lives of middle-income buyers.

ALSA’s first project is in Protea Glen, Soweto, and serves as a proof of concept to all potential franchisees.

Fifty municipal areas have been earmarked for development, and ALSA currently has franchisees in the Eastern Cape, Gauteng, KZN, Limpopo, and North West.
