About Verigreen
Verigreen is a black female owned business, Izakhamzi Plastics PTY Ltd T/A Verigreen. They have been at the forefront of KZN’s sustainable manufacturing for 15 years. Established in 2001, Verigreen Pty Ltd fills a vital niche, specialising in unique refuse bags manufactured from locally sourced, uncontaminated plastic waste.
Verigreen’s CSI initiative empowers formerly unemployed women through a recycling programme that leaves them independently motivated, financially uplifted, and makes them proud role players in an ecological movement that benefits their entire community. Today over 300 previously unemployed women set out to Verigreen’s collection points proudly dressed in their pinafores and hats, then begin collecting plastic waste which they sell to Verigreen. The Mama’s are offered training in terms of type of plastic that can be recycled into new refuse bags and they are taught how to source, grade, and sort waste for the best recycling results. Verigreen then purchase this uncontaminated plastic waste at a premium rate, thereby enabling the Mamas to earn a sustainable income.
About MSQ
MSQ Interiors is a design house with a unique ethos. They pride themselves as an African family dressed with colours of the rainbow.
Difference leads to magnificence and each MSQ member knows this and stands proud. Their ethos stems from 4 pillars of strength, namely:
1. A deep love for Africa our home, our birthright. We believe that healing can only be possible if Nature, Art and Music merge together and provide the heartbeat governing a gateway providing a new dawn for all
2. Empowerment of disadvantaged individuals and communities utilizing waste as our resource and education our gift.
3. A passion for our environment and the quest to find a sustainable solution for the longevity of our planet and the socio economic challenges we face.
4. The answer “Out of Nothing comes Something” is key to all the above. This MSQ adage ripple effect and opens our eyes to a broader perspective.
It logically follows that should a discarded stick of plastic packet reign supreme on the decor design scale of genius so to can the beggar on the street with no future in sight shine as a chip packet can with love, respect and compassionate care.
MSQ firmly believeS that respect for the smallest thing builds respect for greater things to come. In doing so, they have unlocked the unfathomable door to healing our land and all our inhabitants with a much needed blessing. A blessing long overdue and it all begins and ends with Love.
