The nominees for the highly anticipated annual Eat Out Mercedes-Benz Restaurant Awards have just been announced. To shine the spotlight on even more restaurants this year, the list of contenders for these coveted awards has been increased from 20 to 30 nominees.
The nominees, in alphabetical order, are:

Chefs Warehouse & Canteen
Chefs Warehouse at Beau Constantia
Greenhouse at The Cellars-Hohenort
Luke Dale-Roberts X The Saxon
Mulberry & Prince
The Pot Luck Club
The Restaurant at Waterkloof
Restaurant Mosaic at the Orient
The Shortmarket Club
The Test Kitchen
The Top 10 restaurants will be revealed on Sunday 19 November 2017 at the awards ceremony at GrandWest in Cape Town, after a countdown from positions 20 to 11.

The winning restaurants are chosen by a panel of five judges, led by Eat Out editor and head judge Abigail Donnelly. Aside from Abigail, the panel will remain anonymous even after the judging has concluded. Says Abigail: “We are thrilled to be recognising more restaurants with the new format this year. No fewer than 13 restaurants are making their debut appearance on our list of nominees.”

The 2017 Eat Out Mercedes-Benz Restaurant Awards will also recognise the winner of the inaugural Eat Out Graham Beck Chefs’ Chef Award along with the winners of the Eat Out S.Pellegrino & Acqua Panna Chef of the Year, the Eat Out Retail Capital New Restaurant of the Year, the Eat Out John Psillos Award for Outstanding Contribution to Service, the Eat Out Style Award, the Eat Out Service Excellence Award, the Eat Out Wine Service Award and the Eat Out Woolworths Sustainability Award.
