Agencies and direct marketers are under increasing pressure to ensure their activities comply with South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information (POPI) Act, operate appropriately and not contravene the Act.
The Independent Agency Search & Selection Company (IAS) will be hosting an interactive and panel discussion aimed at agency CEOs, MDs, Client Service Directors, Business Unit Heads, Account Directors / Managers.
The masterclass will be facilitated by Danie Strachan, Partner at Adams & Adams, a leading law firm in South Africa. During the masterclass, Danie Strachan will give an in-depth look at how agencies can navigate through Intellectual Property, Copyright and Contracts, advertising and marketing under the Consumer Protection Act and how it relates to marketing standards, direct marketing, promotions, pricing, loyalty programmes, competitions, privacy, product labelling and give a legal update on the Protection of Personal Information (POPI) Act.
Due to his background in intellectual property law, Danie is in a unique position to advise clients regarding the commercialisation of intellectual property, and franchising. He has advised numerous foreign franchisors in relation to their expansion into South Africa and also assists clients with the drafting of franchise agreements and related documentation.
The IAS Masterclasses are exclusive to subscribing agencies and their staff. All names and titles of staff members must be registered with IAS before attendance is approved.
