Head down to the V&A Waterfront for the third instalment of Good Night Fridays between 5pm and 9pm, on Friday, 30 August. Wrap up warm and meander from the Silo District to Pierhead, Alfred Mall and Nobel Square for a fun, mid-winter evening of entertainment and good food. Experience everything from dancers to buskers, DJs, musicians, food and drinks tastings and exhibitions. Shops and restaurants will remain open. From 5pm, DJ Shuffles with his unique style, will be spinning the decks with a variety of genres such as Old school, Hip-Hop, RnB and House at the V&A Waterfront’s Silo District. The Cape Town born music guru has performed all over the world and is currently the resident DJ at Cubaña in Green Point.
Alt-pop duo Emerger will be setting the mood with their pop vocals and catchy beats at the Silo District from 6pm. Emerger was started by Emma De Goede and Gerrit Matthee in 2017 and released their debut album Bloom in 2018. The duo has continued to make waves both locally and internationally, by featuring as Apple Music’s New Artist of the Month.
The award-winning, electro band, GOODLUCK will get the crowd dancing at the Silo District from 8pm. Formed in 2011 and with more than 500 performances around the world and nine South African number one hits, this band will be sure to entertain you with their rhythms of Afrobeat, Afro house and tribal music.
Cape Town born artist, Skubalisto will be showcasing a lumo paint graffiti interactive wall at Pierhead from 6pm. This talented artist creates murals and canvases by using a range of spray paint, acrylic, oil pastel, charcoal and ink. Skubalisto’s style resembles contemporary expressionist and his greater artworks can be found in the township of Langa.
Busker Zenn will be creating electro sounds and beats using his loop synthesized keyboard to keep you moving and your toes tapping from 7pm.
From 6pm, Didi & Jules will be entertaining you over at the Clocktower and from 5pm, a range of artworks will on display at the Art@Clocktower gallery.
Alfred Mall + Nobel Square
Be sure to stop by and get your body moving over at Alfred Mall with some lively salsa dancing. From 5pm, make sure you stop at Nobel Square for some Deep-house, Hip-Hop or Gqom music to get you ready for the weekend with two Cape Town born music influencers, Byron Coe and Diloxclusiv.
