A slight improvement for South Africa ‘s global competitiveness

A look at South Africa ‘s competitiveness in 2024

Productivity SA in collaboration with Switzerland ‘s Institute of Management Development (IMD) will release the 2024 World Competitiveness Yearbook Survey (WCY) virtually on Thursday 20 June 2024 from 10h00-12h00. The survey will outline South Africa ‘s performance and also indicate South Africa ‘s competitiveness rating.
The WCY ranking is an annual report on the competitiveness of selected countries and is recognised internationally as the leading executive opinion survey of competitiveness between nations. It rates the ability of over 64 industrialised and emerging economies to create and maintain an environment that sustains the competitiveness of enterprises. Productivity SA, an entity of the Department of Employment and Labour, is responsible for employment preservation and creation.

During the launch, the 2024 performance of South Africa in the following four competitive sectors will be announced:

• Economic performance
• Government efficiency
• Business efficiency
• Infrastructure
