Bringing a Global Brand to Life by Creating a Future-Ready Headquarters

You are here: Home / Property / Bringing a Global Brand to Life by Creating a Future-Ready Headquarters

(MyPR.co.za) August 28, 2026 By //  by Guest PR Filed Under: Property Edit This Article

When organisations undergo transformation, the workplace often becomes the most visible expression of that change. For global brands, headquarters are no longer simply places where people work. They are environments that shape organisational culture, encourage collaboration and reinforce the values that employees experience every day. As hybrid working models continue to evolve, creating workplaces that people genuinely want to spend time in has become a strategic business priority.

For PepsiCo South Africa, establishing its new 5 000 m² headquarters at Parc du Cap in Cape Town presented an opportunity to create a workplace that reflected the energy, innovation and collaborative culture of one of the world’s leading food and beverage companies.

Appointed as the sole design and build partner, Trend Group delivered a turnkey solution that transformed three floors into a dynamic, flexible workplace designed to support both current operations and future growth.

Designing around people and purpose

Successful workplaces begin by understanding how people work together. PepsiCo’s brief focused on creating an environment that encouraged collaboration while supporting employee wellbeing and productivity.

Flexibility was equally important, ensuring the workplace could evolve alongside the organisation as business needs changed. Rather than approaching the project as a conventional office fit-out, Trend Group developed a strategy that balanced aesthetics with functionality.

Every design decision considered how employees would move through the space, interact with colleagues and engage with the wider business throughout the working day. The result is a workplace that supports a variety of working styles while creating an environment that feels welcoming and connected.

Creating a workplace that reflects the brand

One of the most distinctive aspects of the project is how the PepsiCo brand has been translated into the physical workplace without overwhelming the employee experience. Strategic brand moments are woven throughout the office, from boardrooms and lift lobbies to shared social spaces, creating a strong visual identity while maintaining a sophisticated corporate environment. Colourful feature walls and carefully selected graphics celebrate the company’s portfolio and heritage, reinforcing brand pride without compromising functionality.

These visual elements are complemented by biophilic design features, bespoke furniture and modular workstations that soften the workplace while creating comfortable environments for collaboration and focused work alike. Rather than simply decorating the office with corporate branding, Trend Group used design to express PepsiCo’s culture in a way that employees experience naturally throughout the working day.

Flexibility for the future

Modern organisations require workplaces that can evolve as quickly as their businesses. Trend Group therefore designed the headquarters with adaptability in mind.

Flexible layouts and modular workstations allow teams to reconfigure spaces as organisational requirements change, reducing the need for future refurbishment while extending the long-term value of the workplace investment.

This future-focused approach ensures the office remains relevant as new technologies, working practices and organisational priorities emerge. By designing for flexibility from the outset, Trend Group created an environment capable of supporting continued innovation and growth.

Collaboration drives successful delivery

The success of workplace transformation depends not only on design excellence but also on effective collaboration throughout the project lifecycle. Trend Group worked closely with PepsiCo’s leadership team from concept through completion, maintaining continuous communication and responding quickly to evolving project requirements. This collaborative approach enabled decisions to be made efficiently while ensuring the completed workplace reflected both operational needs and strategic objectives.

The partnership demonstrates how close engagement between client and delivery team can simplify complex projects, minimise disruption and achieve better long-term outcomes. It also reflects a broader philosophy increasingly shaping successful workplace projects: the best results emerge when design, technical expertise and project delivery operate as a single integrated process rather than separate disciplines.

Delivering value beyond the project

Large corporate relocations are significant business milestones, and successful delivery depends on balancing quality, programme and cost. Trend Group completed the entire project within a 16-week programme, delivering a fully operational headquarters in the heart of the Tygervalley business district. The successful completion was celebrated by PepsiCo with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony, marking not only the opening of a new office but also the beginning of a new chapter for the organisation.

While the project is visually striking, its real success lies in how effectively it supports the people who use it every day. The headquarters provides an engaging, adaptable environment that encourages collaboration, promotes wellbeing and reflects the culture of one of the world’s most recognised consumer brands.

Creating workplaces that inspire performance

The PepsiCo headquarters demonstrates that workplace design is about much more than creating attractive interiors. When business strategy, employee experience and thoughtful design are brought together, workplaces become strategic assets that strengthen organisational culture, support collaboration and help organisations attract and retain talented people.

By combining design expertise with turnkey project delivery, Trend Group created a workplace that is as adaptable as the business it serves, ensuring the investment continues delivering value long after construction is complete.

Creating workplaces that work harder

Every organisation has unique operational requirements, cultural priorities and strategic objectives. That is why every Trend Group project begins by understanding how people work before developing solutions that support business performance.

From workplace strategy and interior design to construction, fit-out and furniture procurement, Trend Group delivers integrated commercial interior solutions that help organisations create spaces where people and businesses thrive.

With more than 17 years of experience and over 1 000 projects delivered across South Africa, Africa, the United Arab Emirates and United Kingdom, Trend Group partners with organisations across sectors to deliver future-ready workplaces designed for performance, collaboration and long-term value.
