Cell C Day Of Races supports The Sunflower Fund

Close to 1000 members and supporters of The Sunflower Fund will be seen towing the line at the Cell C Day Of Races powered by Reebok at the Green Point Athletics Stadium on Sunday, 11 September 2016.

Founded in 1999, The Sunflower Fund is a South African non-profit organisation dedicated to creating awareness, educating the public and facilitating the registration process for people to join the South African Bone Marrow Registry (SABMR).

“Our mission is both to create awareness and grow the South African Bone Marrow Registry to help those patients that have been diagnosed with leukaemia and are in need of a transplant,” says Adi Phillips, The Sunflower Fund Regional Manager: Western Cape.  “We are excited to join forces with the Cell C Day Of Races.  This partnership is sure to enhance the reach of our campaign.  We expect to have between 1000 – 1200 runners participating in support of The Sunflower Fund.  Runners will be able to purchase our funky Sunflower Fund TOPES (tube of Hope) on the day.  The funds raised from the sales of Topes will be used to pay for donors to join the registry.  We look forward to an exciting day out and can’t wait to meet new people and make new friends.”

With an emphasis on fitness, fun, friends and fitting in, entrants are guaranteed to ‘Find Their Fit’ when taking part in the Cell C Day Of Races powered by Reebok.  There are five exciting start waves to choose from.
