The Constantia Glen flagship white blend has yet again stepped into the limelight this year by achieving Top 10 status in the Prescient Sauvignon Blanc Report 2020 convened annually by Winemag.co.za.
The Sauvignon Blanc Wine Report describes the Constantia Glen TWO 2019 as “light-bodied and fresh with a pithy finish”. The blend of 67% Sauvignon Blanc and 33% Semillon was fermented and matured for seven months in predominantly older French oak barrels (65%), Austrian oak (13%), French acacia (9%) and clay amphorae(13%).
The cool climate Constantia Glen TWO 2019 was also applauded with 93 points in the highly respected Tim Atkin South Africa 2020 Special Report earlier this year. Atkin described the wine as “subtle, scented and elegant with pink grapefruit and vanilla pod flavours, racy acidity and deftly integrated leesy weight”.
Constantia Glen TWO 2019 will be released in January 2021. The current 2018 vintage available at a cellar door price R290 also boasts a fine track record having scored 92 points in last year’s Sauvignon Blanc Report. For online wine purchases visit https://www.constantiaglen.com/order-wine/ .
The Constantia Glen tasting room is open from Mondays to Thursdays between 10h00 and 17h00, Fridays and Sundays 10h00 until 18h00 and Saturdays 10h00 until 20h00. Book via http://www.constantiaglen.com to avoid disappointment.
