Just 12 months after breaking ground on Margate’s first eco-focused estate – and only one year after the start of the construction for the homes – Serenity Hills has successfully concluded Phase 1 of this in-demand development, with plans for Phase 2 underway.

This eco-focused estate on the KZN South Coast is set within coastal forest, rocky outcrops, and rolling hills overlooking the Indian Ocean. Prior to Phase 1 construction, Serenity Hills had already received national attention with President Cyril Ramaphosa noting its significant national investment contribution at the 5th SA Investment Conference (SAIC). With sustainability at its heart, some 70 hectares of the 120-hectare estate are being retained for pristine conservation. The latest introduction of Grey Duiker and Bush Buck last week marks the start of wildlife reintroduction into this conservation area, further supporting the local ecosystem.
This environmental ethos extends to the use of all building materials and home design with the layout and airflow calculated by an Energy Efficiency consultant.
