Cape Town, 20 January 2015: Give your legwarmers a wash, find those shoulder pads and get ready to re-live the 80’s as Heart 104.9FM and Kia, bring together eight original 80’s artists to perform their hits live in Cape Town on one stage, for one night only.
The world’s biggest 80’s festival kicks off at the Grand Arena at GrandWest and promises to be the time of your life as Billy Ocean, Go West, Nik Kershaw, Heather Small from M People, Hazel Dean, Katrina from Katrina and the Waves, Cutting Crew and Wang Chung take to the stage. Who could resist humming along to hits such as “African Queen”, “Everyone have fun tonight” and “Moving on up?”
Rewind Festival, a showcase of bands and solo acts that dominated the music scene in the 1980’s, was first brought to South Africa in 2012 and has since expanded internationally to the United Arab Emirates and Thailand.
Following on the success of the first Rewind Festival in 2012, which headlined the pop icon Rick Astley, Belinda Carlisle and ABC among others, Rewind Festival 2015 promises to be the biggest 80’s gathering this year.
Tickets are available from www.computicket.com at a starting price of R 420, so book now to avoid disappointment! For more information visit www.1049.fm or follow Rewind Festival on Facebook facebook.com/80sRewindFestival
