In his latest solo exhibition ‘NEXUS’, Corné Eksteen explores the links between the sitter, the artist and the viewer.

In contemporary culture the term ‘nexus’ is often used to indicate links or associations between groups, objects or abstract concepts. Eksteen’s examines this link in his double and multiple portraits of sitters who occupy a singular space: each rendered in a minimal palette of blue, black and brown.

NEXUS opens on 7 March from 6pm at StateoftheART Gallery, Cape Town. The exhibition features 15 new oil paintings and will be on display until 23 March 2019.
