Paarl to play host to The One World Festival of Healing

Paarl, one of the oldest towns in South Africa, will play host to The One World Festival of Healing at the Paarl Arboretum on 23 and 24 September 2017. The festival, which is in its second year, seeks to deliver a space where local and international diversity can be represented and celebrated.

Festival-goers can look forward to the representation of 15 countries with food from around the world and live entertainment by artists including Judith Sephuma, Karen Zoid, Jack Parow, PJ Powers and Alistair Izobell to name a few. There will also be live poetry, holistic practices such as Yoga, Meditation and Taichi introductory classes and much more. A group of Australian Aborigines will also be doing special peace rituals over the two days. The festival appeals to both young and old with fun-rides for the little ones and wine tasting for the adults. Children remain the VIP of the festival as under 18’s are granted free access.

The festival in association with the Institute for the Healing of Memories, The Community Chest Drakenstein Municipality and NEDBANK is now in its second year. New and international working agreements will be announced at a special launch event at the Afrikaanse Taal Momument. It is expected that there will be even greater international participation in 2018.

The Arboretum is the perfect space for this international endeavor as in this special 2.8 kilometre space, 2600 species of trees and shrubs from all over the world are arranged as per continent of its origin. And, since spring has sprung – they will be in full bloom and a sight to behold.

Tickets for the event are available via computicket and Shoprite/Checkers outlets with festival times between 09:00 and 19:00 on both Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 September. Tickets are prices between R80 and R200.
