Smartcall Hosts Corporate Golf Day to Benefit Cassidee Texeira

Mobile firm Smartcall Technology Solutions is hosting a corporate golf day in aid of a young South African woman suffering from a rare bone disorder.

To be held on 16 November 2017 at Roodepoort’s Jackal Creek Golf Estate, the day is in aid of Cassidee Texeira who was born with a seldom-seen deformity called ‘Resorption of the Jaw’.

The 21 year-old Johannesburg resident will benefit from the Golf Day’s R3 400 price per four ball which includes green fees, a golf cart, halfway meal and drink, as well as a prize giving dinner in the evening.

From the age of nine until now, Cassidee has endured jaw operations, chin implants and disintegrating facial bones. She’s had to experience painfully slow and daily excruciating palate-widening. This helps her cope with her serious condition which leaves her enable to do the most basic things that depend on a properly-functioning jaw like chewing and speaking correctly.

“Some light has emerged at the end of the tunnel in that Cassidee can have both her jaw joints replaced with titanium ones that will prevent her jaw disintegrating further,” explains Rory Anderson of Smartcall Technology Solutions. “We became aware of Cassidee’s goal to raise the R600 000 that will enable her to live a normal life following an operation in the United States. We’d like to help this happen and hosting a golf day was a good fundraising choice we hope will be well supported,” he says.

So far, some R40 000 has been raised for the operation that will enable her to have the normal functionality that will enable her to breathe, chew and speak properly.

Cassidee’s medical aid will only pay a small portion of the overall cost and she is therefore reaching out to all of us.
