Whether you are on Twitter for fun or for business or to promote your favourite cause, this short course covers all the basics you need to know to be an effective tweeter, who is also interesting and fun to follow.
Veteran journalist and ex-Sunday Times news editor Ray Joseph who has over 6500 Twitter followers, will show you all you need to know to make Twitter work for you.
You’ll need a laptop that can connect to the Internet and a curious and open mind as you’re introduced to the wide world of the Twitterverse. We’ll also give you some takeaway notes that cover the basics of the training.
You’ll learn to:
• Set up your account properly, so that your Twitter experience is built on top of a solid foundation;
• Speak the language of Twitter;
• tweet and retweet;
• Send direct messages;
• Understand and use hashtags effectively;
• using the @ sign properly so that the intended person/people get your tweets;
• Say it all in 140 characters and write effective and clever tweets that make you stand out;
• Shorten URL links so they fit into your tweets;
• Do basic searches
• Find interesting people and organisations to follow
