(MyPR.co.za) November 9, 2020 By //  by Guest PR Filed Under: General Business Edit This Article

Johannesburg, 06 November 2020: For over 20 years, the Chartered Governance Institute of Southern Africa (CGISA) has partnered with the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) to host the Integrated Reporting Awards. The Awards aim to encourage transparent financial and non-financial reporting, to provide actionable insights into companies’ business performance, prospects, and impact on stakeholders. Due to COVID-19, the Awards will be held virtually at 10h00, on 25 November 2020, in partnership with key sponsors. These include Platinum sponsor, PwC.

“Integrated reporting provides a clear picture of a company’s performance to the entire ecosystem of stakeholders who need to know. And in what has been a challenging year for so many organisations, its importance can’t be overstated. A host of leading South African organisations have come on board to make the 2020 Awards possible. We thank our sponsors and partners for assisting us in getting the message out and recognising the achievers among us,” says Stephen Sadie of CGISA.

The sponsors for the 2020 Integrated Reporting Awards are:

PwC – PwC Southern Africa provides industry-focused assurance, advisory and tax services to public, private and government clients in all markets. PwC’s purpose is to build trust in society and solve important problems. PwC acts as a platinum sponsor of the CGISA Integrated Reporting Awards and a convener of judges during the award evaluation process.

JSE – The JSE is currently ranked the 19th largest stock exchange in the world by market capitalisation and the largest exchange on the African continent. It has a well-established history as a marketplace for trading financial products and is the market of choice for local and international investors looking to gain exposure to leading capital markets in Africa. The JSE is the official co-host of the Integrated Reporting Awards.

Alchemy Creative Studios – Alchemycs creates communications that connect companies with stakeholders. The company specialises in integrated, annual and sustainability reporting, publishing award-winning reports for various organisations. The CGISA provides ongoing guidance in reporting processes to ensure consistent quality.

Computershare – Computershare is a global leader in transfer agency, employee equity plans, mortgage servicing, proxy solicitation, stakeholder communications and other diversified financial and governance services. The world’s leading organisations work with Computershare to maximise their relationships with investors, employees, creditors, members and customers. Computershare supports the CGISA in recognising companies that stood out and acknowledge their responsibility to be conscious companies, setting award-winning standards for stakeholder communication.

Joshero – Joshero is a group of governance, risk, integrated reporting, risk management and strategy professionals who plan, write, manage and design integrated reports. Joshero shares organisations’ value creation stories and has entered two of their own reports into the 2020 CGISA awards

Lumi – Lumi is a global leader in providing software and real-time audience engagement technology to facilitate Annual General Meetings for listed and non-listed companies, associations, legislative bodies, membership organisations and partnerships. Lumi sponsors the use of devices at the CGISA annual conference. And more recently, Lumi sponsored the first ever virtual AGM for CGISA.

Trialogue – Trialogue is a niche consultancy and publisher, providing thought leadership and driving the application of knowledge in the sustainability and corporate social investment (CSI) arenas. This is done through conferences and forums, publications, client reports and consulting services. CGISA and Trialogue complement and support each other from a good governance and business sustainability perspective.

Diligent – Diligent, is a software as a service (Saas) company that enables board members of corporations, government organisations and not-for-profit groups to share and collaborate during board meetings. For Diligent, partnership with CGISA provides positive synergy and a platform through which to engage with a key audience, while gaining valuable insight.

Exxaro Resources – Exxaro is one of the largest black-empowered, diversified mining companies in South Africa. The organisation empowers local communities through enterprise supplier development, local infrastructure projects and working with local government in medium to long-term opportunities. Like CGISA, Exxaro is committed to upholding the importance of integrated reporting and encourages all companies to make integrated reporting one of their top priorities.

Sea Harvest – Sea Harvest Group Limited is a leading, black-owned, responsible, internationally recognised, vertically integrated seafood and branded fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) agri-business. Established in 1964, Sea Harvest is now a household name in South Africa and beyond. Sea Harvest believes that CGISA, as a recognised and credible organisation, provides valuable support on the company’s Integrated Reporting journey.

Nasdaq Governance Solutions – Nasdaq Governance Solutions’ trusted board portal technology, board engagement services and expert insights drive excellence and advance corporate governance practices. The CGISA drives brand awareness to the governance audience in Africa and cultivates further understanding about the market.

The CGISA Integrated Reporting Awards are the leading awards of their kind in the southern African business fraternity. They continue to inspire an increasing number of organisations to adopt integrated reporting practices, setting a benchmark for a variety of industries and providing insights that develop sound reporting strategies.
