Eastern Cape fans will be among the first to hear some of Arno Carstens’ latest songs live as he “rocks the wilds” in the Sundays River Valley in June at the annual Absa Kirkwood Wildsfees brought to you in association with DStv. Arno’s latest album “Wonderful Wilds” has been described as “soul food” – a soft rock, acoustic, mature-toned album which reflects Arno’s diverse talent.
“We are looking forward to performing at the Absa Kirkwood Wildsfees,” says Carstens.
“I’ll be playing some SNG songs, some of the hits from my solo career and well as some new songs.
“It’ll be one of the first times we play the new songs live, so we are very excited,” he says.
The talented platinum selling, multi-award winning South African singer-songwriter and guitarist, described as South Africa’s very own “Godfather of Rock”, is one of the headline acts for the 2012 Absa Kirkwood Wildsfees brought to you in association with DStv.
Starting off his career as the lead singer of the Springbok Nude Girls and then branching out as a solo artist, Arno is a four-time platinum singer/songwriter. He has released nine studio albums, had 13 top ten singles, won five South African Music Awards and has shared the stage with the likes of Metallica and The Rolling Stones.
Don’t miss out on seeing Arno live as he “rocks the wilds” at the Absa Kirkwood Wildsfees this year on Saturday, June 30, 2012.
Other performers on the evening include Pieter Koen, David Fourie, Monique, George Longane, Heinz Winckler, Charlize Berg, Ray Dylan, and Elvis Blue.
The live music starts at two in the afternoon, and there are plenty off-stage activities to keep the whole family occupied.
The Absa Kirkwood Wildsfees brought to you in association with DStv takes place from Friday, June 29, to Sunday, July 1.
