JOHANNESBURG, 09 March 2023: WeHelp is a recently launched crime and medical emergency app. This app is available to all South African residents and functions as a means for communities to stand together and take their power back. Essentially, WeHelp is a state-of-the-art neighbourhood watch.
This ingenious new app taps into the power of the community to get you help at the swipe of a button. Whether you’re involved in an accident, need medical attention, or are in danger – WeHelp is there to help.
WeHelp is a voluntary emergency app for all communities. It does not require you to belong to a specific organisation or be subscribed to an institution to benefit. Nor does it require a monthly subscription fee. It is a lifestyle enhancement, emergency app you can download at a once-off fee of R149.99. It will increase proactive crime prevention and facilitate a rapid response to emergencies.
WeHelp strives to provide a much-needed emergency service, without excluding any group within the community. Every human being deserves immediate access to help when confronted with desperate situations and WeHelp wants to provide that service. WeHelp wants you to never feel alone again in your hour of need.
Once the app is downloaded, the user will be able to create emergency response group/s with family, friends, and community members who live in close proximity to one another. It is also optional to include the neighbourhood watch, security company, or crime-trained reservists in the area. Once the groups have been created, the app is ready to use. When the emergency button is activated, all members of the group will be notified and given the opportunity to respond. A live location with immediate directions to the distressed party will be available.
Crime is escalating at an alarming rate and medical emergencies are often not attended to rapidly enough. Thus, it has become the communities responsibility to make a difference. WeHelp believes that the power of standing together should never be underestimated. The collaborators of WeHelp go on to comment, “Communities that stand together are more resilient in times of crisis and make for stronger communities. It is only if we take collective responsibility, that we have a chance to better our future.”
