The Arts & Culture Trust (ACT) invites applications for an emerging project manager or arts administrator to develop skills, working on the 2016 ACT | UJ Creative Conference.
The internship is available to entry-level project managers and arts professionals interested in gaining experience and skills in a professional environment. The position will be full-time for three months (January to March), based at the ACT offices in Braamfontein. A monthly stipend will be offered, in line with industry standards.
The internship aims to reinforce professionalism and stable work ethics through the development of written, verbal and analytical skills. The intern will gain understanding through experience of the practical application of theoretical knowledge. Focus areas include event planning and implementation, logistics, research, communication, marketing, social media management, networking and monitoring and evaluation.
“Participating in a process of this nature presents a valuable opportunity for an emerging arts manager to gain practical experience. ACT is passionate about investing in the employability and growth of young practitioners and we are delighted that with the upcoming conference we are in a position to demonstrate the potential of such engagements by working with one of last year’s interns, Anastasia Pather, as Project Manager of the 2016 conference,” says CEO of ACT, Pieter Jacobs.
Applicants must be based in Johannesburg and be available from January until March 2016. Experience in marketing and social media management will be favourably viewed. Internship applications are due on or before Monday 7th of December 2015.
