You are here: Home / Transportation / CAIA PRESENTS THE RESPONSIBLE CARE TRANSPORTATION OF DANGEROUS GOODS WORKSHOP.

(MyPR.co.za) August 18, 2014 By //  by Guest PR Filed Under: Transportation Edit This Article

The Chemical & Allied Industries’ Association (CAIA) will present the Responsible Care Transportation of Dangerous Goods Workshop in Johannesburg and Durban on 11 and 12 September 2014, respectively. Featured speakers include dangerous goods specialists, Keith McMurray (Keith McMurray & Associates), Roeleen Henning (SHE Consultants) and Richard Durrant (TRANSHEQ Consulting), amongst others. The workshop aims to assist the chemical and other allied industries with staying abreast of significant changes in the recently revised SANS codes.

The workshop will address the benefits of using root cause analysis when investigating accidents involving the transportation of dangerous goods and will also cover problematic topics like exempt quantities, mixed loads and the compatibility of such loads. Responsible Care supports the safe transportation of dangerous goods, no matter what mode of transport. Continuous efforts to improve safety during transportation and the associated handling of chemicals, are part of the overall objective of both the chemical and transport industry, in accordance with the guiding principles of Responsible Care.

CAIA encourages its members, allied industries, students and academics in the transportation and logistics areas to attend the workshop.

CAIA is the proud custodian of the Responsible Care initiative that is unique to the global chemical industry, having been designed to have a measurable impact on a company’s SHE performance.
