Monday, 09th December 2019; CliffCentral.com and Waterfall Management Company (WMC) have partnered to create the Waterfall Podcast Series. Available exclusively via the GO Waterfall app, this exciting new communication tool for people who live and work on the estate, marks a first-ever production of its kind, and raises the bar in engaging communication for property developments.
The trial 6-part podcast series, with one new episode premiering every month, aims to address matters of interest to the Waterfall community – with useful information, little-known facts, interesting stories and profiles of the residents, businesses and features of Waterfall.
This partnership and production is in many ways already becoming a template for the thousands of other residential developments throughout South Africa, and the world. The podcasts are available and integrated into the existing GO Waterfall app – the same app residents use to receive event notifications, to report maintenance issues and deal with emergencies. Every time a new podcast is loaded, a notification is sent out and the busy people of Waterfall can listen to a short piece of audio at their convenience, rather than set aside time to read a newsletter or go to a meeting.
CliffCentral.com’s Gareth Cliff explains that this podcast series is detailed and can reach people closer to home than old media could: “In the worlds of marketing and advertising, there’s a lot of talk about online or digital communities. This is an example of a digital community that is also a real geographical community and the virtuous cycle that can be started. Podcasting, with its unlimited bandwidth, can help create a whole broadcasting hub in a neighbourhood, and let that neighbourhood generate its own colourful content – and Waterfall is pioneering the prototype for a new way of connecting.”
Waterfall is the largest mixed-use development in Africa – it includes eight residential developments, the iconic Mall of Africa – the largest single phase mall in Africa, a hospital, three schools, and even a heliport. A new way of communicating was key for the development, as Willie Vos, CEO of the Waterfall Management Company has noted: “Research shows that podcasts represent the fastest growing sector of media consumption in South Africa. As we here at Waterfall continue to strive to move with the times and be at the forefront of innovation, we are very excited to bring Waterfall residents and employees the Waterfall Podcast Series, and are proud to do so in partnership with Cliffcentral.com. We aim to make this a regular communication to provide listeners with significantly more information about the development, in a format they can listen to at their own convenience via the GO Waterfall app.”
