Business Management alumni of University of Sunderland expresses his delight as his plan to launched the first African auction marketplace is finally executed. In an informal interview with the serial entrepreneur on Monday 7, March 2016 at his Sunderland Software Centre’s Office, He said;
“I mean; the market is there, fallow and matured, so why not if not?” that was the reply he gave to our question about, weather the size of the market will encourage such an innovation.
The founder; Bukola Ogundipe clearly differentiated his platform from all other Nigeria ecommerce platform by saying, “this is the first marketplace. Our top known (seen to be competitors) are Malls and we respect their status”.
The Projects titled: eBoso – meaning “easy Buy or sell online” is believed to have been graphically designed by the founder himself to deliver a simplistic and user friendly interface.
In the interview with him, our staff couldn’t help but to ask about the difference sectors as the eloquent innovative gentleman presents his platform to the World. He replied;
“There are 3 sectors in the e-commerce sector, 4 if I may;
first; we have the shops – where one owner sell multiple item in variable quantities;
second, the mall – where several business sell items through one hub (have a structured or unstructured store)
third, the marketplace – where several entities (businesses and individual) sell through one hub (the market) with both structured or unstructured stores and or selling directly in the hub without the need to own a store. In the marketplace, buyers and seller should be able to interact and negotiate in real time.
finally, classified listings – where seller post item with phone number and buyers can call to discuss purchase option.”
This is obviously innovative and impressing as Nigeria (the Africa’s leading internet users with over 92million users) braces herself for the new wind of change to be unravelled in this industry current worth $2 billion and forecasted to reach $300Billion by 2025
“ E?commerce will open up a new shopping experience for Africa’s growing middle class. By 2025, it could account for 10 percent of retail sales in the continent’s largest economies, which will translate into some $75 billion in annual revenue”.
