20 July 2016 – The South African National Roads Agency Ltd (SANRAL) would like to advise motorists that resurfacing of the N2 is taking place between Komgha River Bridge and Grahamstown.

There will be road closures between the Lothians monument and Komgha monument moving towards the Grahamstown monument. Motorists should allow for an additional 50 minutes to their travel time when driving between Port Elizabeth and Grahamstown.

An alternative route is to take the R343 Kenton-on-Sea turn off and proceed from Port Elizabeth to Grahamstown via Alexandria.

“Motorists are urged to be observant of all lane closures and warning signs, and exercise extreme caution when travelling through the construction work zones,” said Mbulelo Peterson, SANRAL Southern Region’s Regional Manager.
