MEDIA RELEASE
Subsidised Conference Registrations Available
30 January 2015

Arts and Culture to sponsor ACT | UJ Arts & Culture Conference registration through Mzansi Golden Economy.

The Department of Arts and Culture (DAC) is proud to support the Arts and Culture Trust (ACT) and University of Johannesburg Arts & Culture Conference under the theme “Creatives Make It Happen.” The conference, presented in partnership with the British Council Connect ZA, will take place from 08 – 10 March 2015 at the University of Johannesburg (UJ) in Gauteng.

Funded through DAC’s Mzansi Golden Economy (MGE), the conference will create an opportunity for sponsored registrations to be available to creative practitioners from across the country. Creative entrepreneurs, representatives of small and medium-sized enterprises as well as representatives of arts and culture organisations who are interested in cultivating an entrepreneurial understanding are eligible to apply.

Recipients of sponsored registrations will be entrusted to make the most of their conference attendance in terms of gathering information, learning and interchanging ideas with other delegates with the view of making a contribution to their careers, businesses and organisations and/or the creative industries in general.

In an effort to extend the value of the conference, additional student passes will be significantly subsidised, with an aim of empowering the incoming generation of industry leaders.

The ACT | UJ Arts & Culture Conference is presented by the Arts & Culture Trust, UJ Arts & Culture and British Council Connect ZA, with support from the Department of Arts and Culture, Business and Arts South Africa (BASA), SAMRO Foundation, Pro Helvetia, the European Union, the SA-UK Seasons 2014 & 2015; and media partners Classicfeel magazine and UJfm.

Details about the conference will be updated on the website www.creativeconference.co.za. Application for subsidised registration close 6 February 2015. Regular registration for the conference is also invited at www.webtickets.co.za
