WOMEN’S WALK TO PAINT THE TOWN PINK DURING STELLENBOSCH WINE FESTIVAL

You are here: Home / Health / WOMEN’S WALK TO PAINT THE TOWN PINK DURING STELLENBOSCH WINE FESTIVAL

(MyPR.co.za) January 30, 2015 By //  by Guest PR Filed Under: Health Edit This Article

The town of Stellenbosch will be awash with pink on Saturday, 31 January 2015, as thousands of walkers take to the oak-lined streets of the picturesque town for the Pick n Pay Women’s Walk. Participants will be walking in aid of PinkDrive, an organisation that offers free breast-cancer screening and education to women around the country – completely free of charge – and this is your chance to show your support for this incredible cause.
In spite of the name, a men and children are most welcome too, so bring your friends and family and join us for a fun, untimed, 5-km walk. The walk village will be set up at the Coetzenburg grounds, which will also serve as the start and end points for the walk. Registration starts at 07h00 and the walk sets off at 08h00, following a scenic route through town.
Comedian and radio presenter Wayne McKay will be onsite to host the morning’s proceedings and live music will be provided courtesy of Chasing Time. Once you’ve finished the walk, you’ll be treated to delicious smoothies from our nutrition partner, Futurelife, who will also provide you with some samples to take home with you; and everyone who completes the walk will be presented with a medal and a bag choc-full of goodies.
The PinkDrive will also be there (they are present at all the walks) offering breast free examinations, or advice should you want to chat to someone about a breast-related issue. Entries are R50 per adult and R25 for children under 18.
As a special offer, walkers can gain free entry to the Stellenbosch Wine Festival on 31 January (starts at 12h00 at the same venue) by presenting their Pick n Pay Women’s Walk medal and walk number at the venue. Wine tasting is available for an additional R100, which includes a glass and tastings at the event. Visitors can look forward to more than 350 wines to taste and delicious treats in the Gourmet Lane. And don’t give another thought about what to do with the little ones – the Momentum Health Kiddies Area is fully equipped to cater for their every need, leaving you to relax and enjoy yourself.
Enter online at www.webtickets.co.za or in-store at Pick n Pay Waterstone, Pick n Pay Stellenbosch, Pick n Pay Paarl Mall, Pick n Pay Wellington Family store, Pick n Pay Franschhoek Family store or
