The Circle of Global Business Women (CGBW) is a global network of intelligent and innovative Women ahead of National Women’s Day announced their emergency safety response to combat Gender-based violence and femicide.

The Circle of Global Business Women are authentic in their endeavours to create a leadership shift globally. Circle of Global Business Women supports the rise of Women leaders globally embodying a female wave of change and a power circle of Women leading that change.

Gender-based Violence and Femicide (GBVF) in South Africa has reached extraordinary heights on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. With the lockdown during the Covid-19 pandemic in South Africa, GBVF statistics have escalated significantly. GBVF alone is a vertical that has spiralled out of control with over 700 000 rapes alone taking place in 2019, with less than 1% being prosecuted.

It is predicted that in South Africa, 40% of South African women will be raped in their lifetime. Further, 1 in 9 incidents will be reported and less than 14% of perpetrators will be convicted.

The Circle of Global Business Women, has developed a solution to make a significant impact on reducing GBVF in South Africa.

“The Circle of Global Business Women believes that as Women leaders we must play our role to lead in this changing and unpredictable world – it is the way out of mediocrity and the highway to growth and greatness and ensuring the safety and security of all women and children.” Says Sindiswa Mzamo, President, Circle of Global Business Women.

Real-time emergency response for safety and security is key to reducing GBVF is South Africa. We would like to introduce a revolutionary disruptive Mobile Rapid Response Solution that will deliver rapid, immediate emergency response to assist in preventing and or reducing GBVF.

The Rapid Response Solution gives an alert to the nearest five (5) armed response vehicles within your area via a call centre immediately directing the closest response vehicle to your emergency request, within 3-8 minutes on average (record time).

The Circle of Global Business Women has partnered with a registered member who currently has a fleet of 1 600 response vehicles, 2 750-armed response officers, covering 859 residential areas in 108 towns working with 170 service providers in all the 9 provinces to support our rapid response emergency Rapid Response Solution. On the same platform, an on-demand EMS service is available with over 700 ambulances and paramedics, responding within 22 minutes in all coverage areas.

The platform can activate and on-board thousands of users in a short-period of time. This solution has already prevented countless crimes, murders and rapes. The Circle of Global Business Women roll out of this service will have an immediate effect on reducing daily GBVF and will provide peace of mind to millions of South African women, at home 24/7 (during lock-down), in the workplace and in public spaces once lockdown releases us all.

The CGBW in partnership with our esteemed member has already secured and on-boarded private sector.

It is against this backdrop that as active concerned women; call on Government to join us in forging a long-term partnership to drive access to our solution where it is mostly needed – in our communities.
