Aimed at commercial craft brewers, home brewers and beer enthusiasts, the Powwow exists to create a unified platform for quality, consistency and comradery in the craft beer industry. The conference includes presentations from local and international speakers, educational workshops, brewery tours, delicious food and good fun.
The Powwow also has two sets of awards: The Craft Brewers Awards and the Home Brewers Awards. The Craft Brewers Awards are dedicated to showcasing top South African craft brewers and their beers whilst the Home Brewers Awards is aimed at providing an opportunity for serious home brewers to be recognized for their time and talents.
2017 winners of the Craft Brewers Awards included: Urban Brewing Co., Darling Brew, Cape Brewing Co., Metal Lane Brewery, Devil’s Peak Brewing Co., Copperlake Brewing Co., Dissident Brewing Co., Newlands Spring Brewing Co.
The Craft Brewers Powwow also have an exhibition tent which gives suppliers to the craft beer industry the opportunity to showcase their products, whilst attendees have the chance to see who’s doing what and discover the latest trends in beer technology, packaging, logistics and more.
