The Stellenbosch Wine Festival is back!

You are here: Home / Entertainment / The Stellenbosch Wine Festival is back!

(MyPR.co.za) December 6, 2017 By //  by Guest PR Filed Under: Entertainment Edit This Article

One of the highlights on the SA wine calendar, the Stellenbosch Wine Festival presented by Pick n Pay is back, and promises to be as memorable as ever. The popular event will once again be hosted at the picturesque Coetzenburg Sports Grounds from Friday, 23 to Sunday, 25 February 2018.

The three-day event offers the crème de la crème of the Stellenbosch Wine Routes. Presented in a modern , family-friendly, relaxed and entertaining format, the Festival has become well-known by wine-lovers far and wide for showcasing some of the finest wines the country has to offer.

This year the Festival will offer two exceptionalconsumer experiences, including a General Wine Tasting Experience and a Premium Wine Tasting Experience. The General Wine Tasting Experience offers you the opportunity to taste and purchase from a selection of the best wines from 60 wine farms. Your ticket includes a branded wine glass for tastings and a cashless card with 20 free pre-loaded tastings . The Premium Wine Tasting Experience will include award winning Wine of Origin Stellenbosch wines, seven cultivar-themed tables and a chance to meet the winemakers, a branded wine glass for tasting, cashless card with 30 free pre-loaded tastings and a complimentary Charcuterie platter per person.

All attendees will have access to shaded seating areas and the Gourmet Food Lane, with live entertainment. Those with little ones will be able to drop off their kids at the Momentum Health Kiddies Area (a free check-in service where the little ones (ages 2 – 12years) will be looked after and entertained for the day). Festival goers can shop to their heart’s content as Aramex again offers a complimentary wine delivery service for all wine purchased at the Festival – free to any address in South Africa.

In keeping with contemporary trends the festivalemploys a cashless system that will allow visitors to enjoy the festival with a safe and manageable event currency solution. Every stand you purchase from, whether you’re buying wine by the bottle or food from Gourmet Lane, will be set up with a point of sale system that works like a debit card. The cashless card is included in your ticket price and will be pre-loaded with either 20 or 30 tastings, depending on the ticket package you purchase. If your card runs out of credit or tasting coupons you can go back to the branded cashless area, or an available staff member will load the card as needed.

The Stellenbosch winelands is famed with foodies the world over, and there will be a veritable feast of fresh artisanal foods and signature dishes from some of the best eateries in the area. With wines from over 60 different wine farms, delicious food, great live music and a host of fun outdoor activities, the weekend is set to be one you don’t want to miss. All this in one of the country’s most beautiful settings – what more could anyone ask for?
