Not to even mention mining! From the beginning of time or rather from the beginning of iSearchplant South Africa`s favorite plant hire construction and mining search site a lot of questions has been raised by industrial construction firms to us. Of course we referred in Good Faith all the queries we got back to the relevant associations. As we understand their perspective roles. Even tough we have not officially met!

Of course we found that allot of Plant Hire and Contractors are stumbling with all the Jargon that has to do with SETA `s and the relation it has with the Mine Health and Safety Act 29 of 1996 not even to mention the Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993. So what is the MHS Act 29 of 1996 and the OHS Act 85 of 1993 and what does it have to do with the SETA? Good question – A question that allot of experts do not want to discuss openly.

Until of course today – To give you the Plant Hire or Construction Contractor an overview. Both Acts and I am referring to the MHS Act 29 of 1996 and the OHS Act 85 of 1993 of course. Both these Acts is the Main underlying component for regulation within the industry.

To come back to the heading of course dear reader one has to ask the question, why am I conducting business in the first place? And is these acts not just something that is in my way that hinders me from obtaining my goal of financial freedom? Want to know the answer? Well both acts is very important and if applied correctly in your plant hire construction contractor business can save you money and assist you when you have trouble.

Let us explore Section 8 of the OHS Act and Section 11 of the MHS Act. Yes surely you might mention something like this. I employ persons in my company to look out for these and apply it. Dear Plant Hire Construction professional contractor sir. If you have said that I am sure to tell you the truth that you might not want to hear. You might be in a lot of trouble. Do you know who the responsible person is according to these acts? Do you know how it is applied? Have you heard of Vicarious Liability or Law of delict?

Sure, anyone can write something about Plant Hire and Contractors in the Mining and civil industry. And you are going to get allot of fly by nights coming into your business. Offering you training or Consulting you at very large sums of money. So what does it all mean?
